Haverstock is proud to share that Maison Dieu ( Dover Town Hall ) has been shortlisted for the Architects Journal Retrofit and Reuse Awards in the Conservation and Historic Category.

This decade-long conservation project has restored the Maison Dieu as a valued community hub through extensive conservation, repair and redecoration. Introducing a new accessible high-street entrance, community spaces and Landmark Trust holiday let, securing a vibrant, sustainable future for this much needed community asset.

Community engagement has been central to the success of this project. During consultation, over 300 participants engaged through the Festival of Skills in partnership with local colleges and schools. Showcasing opportunities in heritage, creative industries and construction, inspired by the project, including practical workshops and building site tours.

Today, the Maison Dieu offers inclusive guided tours and a diverse programme of events, from live music and comedy nights, to school visits, family-friendly art and craft activities, health and wellbeing workshops, Heritage Open Days and Dover Pride.
