Open City 2026 : Model Making

In May, Haverstock concluded our workshops with Year 5 Students as part of the 2026 Open City : Young City Makers programme!

This culminated in students manifesting their designs for an inclusive forest school in a collaborative model.Based on a real-life school site, students considered how nature-based learning can support SEND students through regenerative design, natural materials and increased biodiversity by designing their own interventions, masterplanned on a shared site.

The designs introduced dedicated habitats for London’s wildlife, including a ‘Frog Zone’ with areas for perching and protected spaces for frogspawn, tunnels and dens for foxes and wildflower meadows supporting pollination.
