Haverstock at the Education Estates SEND Conference

Last month Haverstock attended the Education Estates SEND Conference!

Our Partner, Claire and Associate, Anna respectively presented their recent work on Post Occupancy Evaluation and Best Practice in Delivery of Inclusive Environments. Alongside Zane Putne from Noviun, Claire shared our early findings from our collaborative Post Occupancy Survey, which sought feedback from schools from five architectural practices.

Drawing on these findings, Claire and Zane offered a rounded view of how design intent has translated into real world performance.In conversation with Martin Scarborough, Headteacher at Tufnell Park Primary School, and Jo Marchant MBE, in a session Chaired by Claire Jackson from Galliford Try, Anna explored the key elements of inclusive education.

In their discussion, Anna highlighted the importance of collaboration with parents, teachers and specialists when designing inclusive spaces to rigorously examine students’ needs and the barriers to accessibility they face.Our Architect Mark, and Architectural Assistant, Ella put together our wonderful stand, celebrating Haverstock’s rich portfolio of considered, robust and inclusive design, growing with students and supporting their wellbeing, curiosity and connection to nature.
